If you read any of the reviews for KitchenAid Commercial-Style ranges online, you will find many of them praise the griddles. The Even Heat™ Electric Chrome-Infused Griddle on these units is truly incredible! They look so professional and shiny in our showroom and at your home…, but to some, that may be intimidating. We sent Chef Keys to a kitchen in Bettendorf, Iowa, that has a 48” wide Commercial-Style from Village Home Stores to help showcase just how much fun it can be to have one of these units in your home. She also helped us show you how easy these griddles are to clean up.
This kitchen design boasts an open-concept layout, a dreamy lineup of KitchenAid appliances, and a massive kitchen island at the center for Chef Keys to set up shop for a brunch. The kitchen perimeter and island cabinetry is from our Wynnbrooke line. The door style is named “Denali,” and the design includes a combination of their “White” paint and a “Stone” stain on White Oak. The countertop surfaces are a Silestone Quartz surface in a color named “Seaport” and Suede finish.
Commercial-Style Ranges
KitchenAid offers a full lineup of cooking appliances for your home, including commercial-style wall ovens, cooktops, and complete freestanding ranges that can take your home cooking to the next level. This gives Village customers access to features and options to give restaurant-quality results. This Quad Cities kitchen has a commercial-style 48” wide dual fuel range, and Chef Keys fell in love at first sight! Two electric ovens, True convection features on the main oven, a gas cooktop with full-width grates over 6 burners, wok-friendly burners, and of course, the griddle we are here to showcase today.
How to Clean Your KitchenAid Griddle
The electric griddle on this unit provides a quick preheat and consistent temps across the full surface. It also has a chrome-infused surface giving it a sleek shiny look when you aren’t using it. But how do you keep it that way? We promise it is easy to clean this griddle surface and keep it looking showroom-shiny with just water and basic supplies.
- Preheat your dirty griddle to 300°F. The “Ready” light will turn on when the surface is fully heated.
- Grab a cup of water, wooden spoon or spatula, a non-scratch sponge, a few damp kitchen towels, and a microfiber cloth.
- Pour 1 cup of water over griddle pouring from the back to the front so that it gathers in the front drip tray.
- Let water bubble, then use a non-scratch sponge and a wooden spoon to pull mess forward toward the drip tray.
- Use wet towel and wooden spoon to wipe down griddle again and be sure to catch edges of your griddle’s depth.
- Turn off the griddle and let it cool COMPLETELY.
- Wipe cooled griddle with damp towel one last time and then buff with microfiber cloth.
- Remove drip tray when cool and clean with warm soapy water before returning it in place.

See what we mean? You don’t need harsh chemicals or even a lot of elbow grease to keep your griddle looking great. We loved watching Chef Keys prepare lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes on this griddle. The homeowners assured us they use the griddle a lot and especially love grilling up paninis on it. Yum!
Oh yeah, we almost forgot to mention this range is also a “Smart” appliance! This model can connect to the KitchenAid app on your phone!
Smart + WiFi Connected Range Features
Once you have registered and paired your appliance to the app, you can control the unit remotely. This may mean from across the room… or on your way home from work, perhaps? Check out these great connected features:
- Preheat your oven remotely and receive notifications when the oven is ready.
- Monitor progress and adjust settings without getting up and adjusting the controls.
- Set and save your own favorite settings and instructions for recipes you prepare often.
Because this range has a commercial look with only knobs and handles (no touch controls or screen), some features are only available when paired with the KitchenAid app. Within the app, you can access great preset options like “Rapid Proof” for your doughs or the “Convect Pastry” settings for delicate specialty baking items. Remember the KitchenAid digital temperature probe we shared with you recently? These smart appliances also come with one, and you can monitor your internal temperatures using the probe and app together. Because these are smart appliances, you will also have access to updates and other new options as they become available.
Thank you again so much to these amazing customers for trusting us with your kitchen cabinetry, countertop, lighting, and appliance package order during your new build process with Aspen Homes. We were thrilled to have the chance to send Chef Keys out to help “break in” this range. Looking for your local low price guaranteed on KitchenAid appliances in the Quad Cities area?
