This is a new home that was built recently in Geneseo, IL by Hazelwood Homes. This customer selected cabinetry, countertops, appliances, lighting, flooring, and wall surfaces from Village Home Stores for the home. The great room kitchen is an absolute dream! What a refreshing break from all the white painted kitchens we share. This warm, hickory wood kitchen has all our social media pages buzzing. It features cabinetry from our Dura Supreme line paired with Cambria Quartz counters and COREtec vinyl plank flooring.
Dura Supreme Hickory Morel Kitchen with Graphite Island
The most-asked question about this kitchen is “what wood/finish is that?” This is the Hudson door style stained with the warm "Morel" finish from our Dura Supreme Cabinetry line. This finish on a Hickory wood serves up such a variety of warm gray tones. A single door can give you multiple wood tones. These images capture a little bit of that stunning shade variation but trust us when we say in person it is even more beautiful. The variety in the cabinetry finish allowed this customer to focus just on one stationary note for the flooring selection.

If you are looking to create a polished, custom look for your kitchen, then be sure explore your range hood options with a kitchen designer at Village. This kitchen showcases a great option to order a matching wood hood for your design. This wall of cabinetry looks so warm and stunning without the disruption of a metal range hood. This hood design even allows you to add a mantle area with a shelf. Many customers use this area for seasonal décor like wreathes, garland, or even leaning artwork on it. Range hoods need to look AND work great. Don't worry, above this commercial gas cooktop there is also proper ventilation! 500 CFMs to be exact! A stainless Steel Broan hood insert is tucked away beneath the cabinet hood.

A Walk in Pantry With Garage Access Door
Speaking of great storage, of course this new home has an enviable walk-in pantry as well. The pantry offers great storage just steps from the kitchen and even access to the garage. Check out this handy pantry feature that makes unloading after a trip to the grocery easy!
Pantry and cabinet storage is great, but no kitchen design can be truly successful without access to fresh food storage. A built in a counter-depth model French door refrigerator is included with a deep cabinet above and an end panel on the side. This counter-depth model fridge has 20 cu.ft. of storage and a temperature management system / produce preserver to help keep food fresh. There is LED lighting throughout the refrigerator making food easy to find on every level and an interior water dispenser give the homeowner the great feature without a visible dispenser on the front.
Shop refrigerators online with us and message our team with any questions you may have. We will work with your kitchen designer to make sure the right style and fit is planned for the refrigerator zone of your kitchen. The kitchen island cabinetry is installed in the same Hudson door but an accent painted finish. The "Graphite" paint by Dura Supreme is a moody, dark blue/black paint that looks amazing in this design. This finish has sort of a dusty black look to it and looks great paired with grays, blues, and matte black finishes.
The kitchen island interior includes a pullout waste basket, the kitchen sink, a tray divider cabinet, and the dishwasher. A matte black single-arm kitchen faucet with spray arm has a sleek look and a single button control to the right is for the garbage disposal. Did you notice that the dishwasher in the kitchen island is raised up off the floor?
Loading and unloading dishes just got "loads" easier for this homeowner. No more bending down to reach the bottom rack! Raised dishwasher designs are not just for our age-at-home clients, users of all ages and abilities can appreciate less back strain with a raised appliance included in their kitchen design.
Acid-Etched Kitchen Pendant Lighting
Above the dual-height island hang two pendant lights that tie in a weathered metal finish to the design. The "Ari" pendants by Capital Lighting comes in a single light size (shown) as well as a larger scaled size with 3 lights inside. This lighting collection takes a unique finish and applies it to classic lighting silhouettes. The nickel finish is hand-applied using an acid-etching technique. Just like in the wood cabinet finish, this metal finish has warm undertones that come through. So instead of a cold or industrial feel, we get a warm and storied look. We don't normally have the opportunity to select accent tile that compliments woods and metals alike... but this kitchen let us do exactly that. Above the gas cooktop is a diamond area of faux tin tile.
The kitchen backsplash tiles are from Midwest Tile's "Gatsby" series in the "Lead Tin" color. They look right at home alongside all the other surface selections made. The tile looks so great with the kitchen finishes and lighting that we even repeated it across the room as the fireplace surround.
But remember this is an entire new house, not just a new kitchen. So, there is even more tile to be shown off in the home. Another of our favorite tile installation is found in the primary bathroom. We used a painted tile from the "Memoir" series by Daltile in the "Petal Black" color.

The laundry room in this new home is also enviable. Bright and stylish with "Fog" painted cabinetry from our Koch Express line in the "Windsor" door. A pair of Maytag top load laundry is ready to tackle any load. No matter the size or the soil, this set is up for the challenge. We love new home layouts that allow laundry to be near the hub of the home. This laundry room is on the main level near the great room.
