For those who shop with us or call for service and say “they really don’t make them like they used to” this is Maytag’s earnest attempt to truly take steps to build laundry like it used to be built… and dare I say better? But readers, the steps they are taking are not steps backwards and that’s a good thing.
This new Maytag Commercial for Residential laundry launch is proof that the engineering team is taking steps forward with respect to the way things used to be. Including only what is needed for the very best performance from your investment. Literally no bells and whistles, just the good stuff. And these machines have no interest in connecting with your WiFi. I just got back from our BrandSource buy fair where we were able to see, train, and place our order early for these models.
We will share more details when we get ours on the floor, but I must give you an early sneak peek with what we know so far. The reason I say “I” here sometimes and not a more generic “we” is I want you to know this is written by a real person (Hi, Elizabeth writes these if you didn’t know that). Not AI, not someone who works at Maytag, but a real person in your community who is excited about this launch and wants to let you know what to expect.
It is no secret that we are in the business of selling and servicing appliances at Village Home Stores. Maytag’s New Commercial Laundry and DuraCore System
Village Home Stores wants to send and install quality products in your home so that you can fully enjoy your time spent at home. So, when we hear a product launch use phrases like “Buy it for life” or “Engineered to last 30 years” our ears perk up quite a bit for our customers. This new launch is something I am so excited to offer our customers.
This new design includes what they are calling a DuraCore™ System. It is a base-mount suspension system with a skate ring that absorbs force in the spin cycle. There is a Direct Drive motor set on a base designed for a better center of gravity when in use.
Commercial-Grade Parts and Fully Front-Serviceable
The DuraCore™ System is sturdy and dependable. This is because it is assembled using durable commercial-grade parts. We watched the unit be taken apart right in front of us and they passed around some of the parts. Let’s just say rubber and plastics are being replaced with sturdy metal pieces and units that you get to have at home are built to take the abuse a laundromat would normally see. This new design and commercial-for-residential approach resulted in reducing the amount of small, high-maintenance parts by 50%. As in half. And what parts are left are commercial grade components.
This new rebuild and the elimination of 50% of parts inside of the unit allow Maytag to say it and mean it when they claim, “engineered to last 30 years or 12,000 uses”. Plus, they have piled on two layers of warranty coverage which is not typical in this industry anymore. The Maytag Commercial units come with full parts and labor 5 year warranty plus 10 years of warranty on key components of the machines. This translates to the motor and wash basket on the washer and the drum and the motor on the dryer.
If you do need appliance service, or just pump or valve maintenance, our service techs are ready to help. The image above shows a feature that we are probably more excited about than you. The units are fully front-serviceable. What the heck does that mean? It means that our techs can access the entire system inside of your washer or dryer without moving it out into the room to disassemble. Not every laundry room is a spacious laundry lounge area. Many times, it is a tight space we are working in. So, if we did ever need to service the units for you, it will be quicker and easier to get you back up and running.

In case you haven’t met me in person, yes that is my honest, excited feedback in the voiceover. We were so thrilled to see the feature lineup on this launch. Reader, please know that a room full of appliance dealers and servicers can be the hardest crowd to please. Nobody asks harder questions or expects more from a new launch than an independent appliance dealer who also runs a service department. This room was buzzing with excitement, and everyone is very pleased with what Maytag is sending to us out of the Ohio factories.
Maytag Commercial 8305 Washer with Power Wash
We know that control over your water level in a wash is important to you. We hear our customers every day ask about a deeper fill and the option to add items after the wash starts without a lid locking on them. The product trainers tried to casually drop “no lid lock” in our training and the room full of dealers actually erupted in applause and shouts of “thank you”. I may have even heard an “Amen” from the back at one point.
The MTW8305 has 4 water levels including a deep water option and like we mentioned, no lid lock. There is also a Quick Wash cycle (30 minutes), and for our customers on well water or with very hard water in their homes, the inlet valves used in this commercial assembly are also commercial-grade valves ready to work better for your investment.
And yes, Maytag still includes a Power Wash cycle (45 minutes) on this unit. You didn’t think that they would launch a new washer literally built for your toughest loads and leave out the one-step cycle option that will get you the best cleaning did you? So, for our active families, farmers, mechanics, pet owners, and parents of messy tiny humans or age-in-place humans, Power Wash is ready for you. Power wash adds extra time, agitation, and water to the wash for the best cleaning out there. That gives you the best cleaning available in the most dependable laundry pair offered.
Maytag Commercial-Grade Dryer
These units have a simple, “Heritage” design and come in White and Midnight Steel. The controls are so straight-forward, and this machine has no interest in connecting to your WiFi.
And talk about another welcome return to the basics, many of our customers will be happy to learn that this dryer doesn’t sing a cute little song to you when it is done. Instead, there is a simple buzzer sound when the dryer is finished. This is also easy to turn off and on with a single switch. You will find that another Maytag favorite has been included in an optional add “Pets” cycle. This cycle is designed to help remove pet (and human) hair during the wash and dry cycles.
